Questions and Answers

Congratulations! If you’ve landed on this page you’re likely engaged to your soulmate! I hope you’ve added me as a friend on Facebook and Instagram, and have checked out my blog. Below are just a few of the questions that I’ve received from couples looking for a wedding photographer. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to e-mail directly. I would love to chat more and get to know you.

Where are you located? Do you travel?
I am located in the small town of Neillsville, Wisconsin. I mostly cover Wisconsin and Minnesota, but I can go anywhere my passport will take me. I absolutely love traveling and love the inspiration that comes with photographing in new places.

What is your photographic style?
My style is soft, romantic and authentic. My goal when photographing weddings is to capture the event’s uniqueness in the most simple and genuine way possible. Nothing overly posed, no stuffy photos. I want you to fall in love with your wedding photos and love them for the rest of your life. I try not to date the photos too much by doing anything trendy or over the top with my couples—just awesome photos that capture their personalities! I want to capture the event just as it is. I love the candid moments that unfold naturally throughout the day, but I also enjoy a few posed photographs that require a small bit of planning and creative thought.

What are your rates?
Wedding pricing begins at $2,800. I offer fully customizable wedding collections that gives you the freedom to choose the amount of coverage and add-ons! If you would like specific information on what I offer, please click “Contact” from the options above to send me an email. I’d love to help you choose the perfect wedding photography collection to fit all your needs.

I love your work! How do I reserve you to photograph my wedding?
Once I receive a signed copy of your wedding contract and a $500 non-refundable retainer the date is saved. Please note that email inquiries do not guarantee any client to a particular date. It is not unusual for me to receive three to four inquiries for most dates during wedding season. Therefore, the date remains open until a contract is signed and the retainer is paid.

How much time should we set aside on our wedding day for portraits?
I typically like to spend 30 minutes with my bride and groom for the formal portraits. This doesn’t include the time needed for formal portraits of the family and bridal party. If time permits, I always love to take a few photos during the golden hour. I tell all my couples that by blocking out 30 minutes with me, you’ll get both a beautiful collection of photographs and a chance to spend a few moments alone together away from the hustle and bustle of your wedding day.

Should we consider adding a second photographer to our collection?
Having a second photographer gives you another artistic eye to capture your special day. I can never be in two places at once, but when there is another photographer it gives me the ability to do just that. Having a second photographer allows me to send someone else to take pictures of the groom and groomsmen getting ready, while I stay with the bride and bridesmaids. It aids in the storytelling process by giving you a second artistic eye to interpret your day and document the moments you will cherish for a lifetime.

How long does it take to receive my photos?
It takes anywhere between 4-6 weeks to receive your wedding images. I typically post a few sneak peeks within the first few days following the wedding to hold you over until the entire gallery is ready.

Do you shoot more than one event on my wedding day?
When a bride and groom reserve me for their wedding date, they are my only clients for that day. I always give weddings my full attention and do not book any additional portrait sessions for that day. My couples always get my full energy and focus!

Do I have permission to print the photos? Can I use them online?
With all of my weddings and portrait sessions, I release the photographs for personal use after the final payment is made. This allows you to use the images online and print the images at any photo lab of your choice. You may not, however, sell, edit, or advertise the images in any way. I ask that if you post your images online (such as on Facebook or Instagram) that you state clearly, “By Kelly Grace Photography” below or beside the image.

What happens if there is an emergency situation and you are unable to photograph my wedding?
In the highly unlikely event that I am unable to photograph your wedding, I will do everything that I can to find a proper replacement. I’m a member of numerous photography organizations and have hundreds of professional photographers that I can contact in case something unforeseen should happen.

Should we do an engagement session?
Engagement sessions are my absolute favorite! They give me a chance, as the photographer, to capture the two of you together in a more natural environment. These sessions are the perfect way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. You get to see me in action, ask any questions and create an album full of new memories!

Where should we schedule our engagement session?
One of the great things about engagement sessions is the ability to be flexible on location. I recommend choosing locations that are important or significant to you. Maybe a first date location, the home you share together, a beach you love to visit, your favorite place to hang out, or the city where your love grew. Selecting a location that fits your personality is a great way to capture you both in a candid and natural way! The best time of day for engagement sessions are during the “golden hour,” which stretches during the first two hours after the sunrises and in the last two hours before the sunsets. This always ensures that we receive soft natural light and beautiful color tones.

Do you offer products such as canvas prints, coffee table books, and albums?
Of course! I work with the best vendors in the industry to bring my clients products that show off their beautiful photographs.
