Chloe and I hit it off when we first chatted last summer! She was so fun and relaxed over the phone –– she brought you in and treated you as friend right away; I adore people who have this kind of gift. Every detail she had planned so far (or was thinking through) was so relaxed and she was just so easy going + up for whatever I had in mind!

I headed down to Chicago to meet them for their session since that is where they currently reside. I’m not sure how I did it, but I talked them into doing a sunrise session! A 5:30 am wakeup call was a bit difficult, but the yummy light from the sunrise made it all worth it! 🙂

We started the session by the water with views of downtown Chicago, made our way to the Ulysses S. Grant Monument, and then ended the session by the famous honeycomb structure. Each of these locations provided an amazing backdrop.. with the monument being my favorite set of images!

As we walked from location to location I got to know them a little more + hear about their wedding plans. James is just as kind as Chloe and the two of them compliment each other so well. Plus, they are so fun together and I loved watching them interacting together!

Thank you for an amazing downtown Chicago engagement session! I can’t wait to capture them again on their wedding day next month, but until then, I hope you love these pictures as much as I do!
