This journal post is a special one to me! Meet my nephew, Gabe!
I first came into his life when he was just 8 years old, and I’ve had the pleasure of watching him grow up over the last 10 years! It’s absolutely crazy to me that he is now 18 and graduated! Time is a thief!
I worked with his Mom for quite some time planning out his senior session. She had a lot of great ideas of things + places to incorporate in an effort to show off his personality + interests. Gabe is an avid fisherman, runs his own maple syrup business (check out Mathis Maple!), creates fun farming videos, and hopes to one day take over the family farm. Growing up on the family farm, he has learned the meaning of hard work, dedication, entrepreneurship + many other skills.. it’s all shaped the man he is today!
Since the farm has played such a major role in his life, we decided to do most of his session around the farm. We incorporated the parlor where the cows are housed/milked, the old red barn, great-grandpa’s old tractor, and in a field surrounded by corn stalks. His Mom’s one request was to capture him on the driveway with the farm in the background.. this was the road he used to walk down as a kid to capture the school bus!
At the end of the session, Gabe’s Dad surprised him by lining up all the tractors so he could get a few photos with them in the background! Gabe had no idea that was going to happen and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen him smile that big! It truly was a special moment for Gabe + his parents! 🙂
Thank you, Gabe, for choosing me to capture your senior portraits! Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors!
