Alex and Spencer were absolutely adorable, completely in love and so thrilled to be celebrating their union to one another! You could feel the excitement fill the air when they were together. When Alex contacted me about potentially being their wedding photographer, she mentioned that she had modeled her whimsical lavender themed wedding after some pictures that she found on my site. Needless to say, I was incredibly flattered and excited to see what she had put together! 🙂 Her vision came perfectly to life, and I am honored to have been there to capture it for her and Spencer.
Their venue was a stunning display of nature’s beauty and perfectly fit their vision. When asked what words best described the feel of her wedding, Alex responded, “woodsy with class”.Â
The Black Bear Lodge in St. Germain conveyed this feeling beautifully. The wooded space and lake made for a gorgeous backdrop for their big day. Their color palette of navy and lavender complimented the outdoor elements perfectly.
Alex and Spencer’s Sweet Love Story
The duo are both currently active duty military stationed in Hawaii. Their love story is simple and sweet. Like a storybook tale, they met on base and it was love at first sight. They decided to plan a wedding back home in St. Germain. I am so thankful for the service and dedication these two show to their country! Spencer looked very handsome in his grey suit and striped tie. He paired the dressy duds with a casual pair of converse, which I thought was so cute. Alex was breath taking in her strapless gown and beautiful braided up-do.
They were married outside under a lovely pergola that Spencer’s Mom decorated beautifully with gorgeous florals. It was a stunning sight to see the sweet couple framed by the flowers as the said their ‘I dos’. It was adorable to see how thrilled they were to have made their commitment to one another in front of their closest family and friends. Alex and Spencer kept the guest list, as well as their wedding party small. Along with them, they had two bridesmaids and three groomsmen standing by their sides supporting them during their vows.
Bringing the Outdoors In
They held their reception under a large tent on the property, where they brought the outdoors in through various organic elements. I especially loved their birch tree wedding cake! If you scroll down, you might get a kick from their cake topper. How funny! From the table settings to the personalized place cards, each element was so unique to their big day.
All in all, the day was an absolute success. They kissed as often as possible (as love birds should) and filled the space with their warmth and love for one another and for those who came to support their future together. I am thrilled to have captured these sweet memories for Alex and Spencer, and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these two love birds!
What a great and fun day it was capturing this Woodsy Wisconsin Wedding at Black Bear Lodge. Congratulations to Alex and Spencer!
