You may remember these two from their English-cottage inspired engagement session! Michelle + Austin were married in a Romeo and Juliet inspired wedding at the Villa Terrace Art Museum and it was perfection!
So perfect —in fact— Wisconsin Bride magazine decided to feature it in their Spring/Summer 2022 issue! Here is what Wisconsin bride wrote about their wedding day:
Inspired by French and Italian style, the couple’s choice of Villa Terrace on Lake Michigan and a palette of creams, tans and champagne transported their guests to the European seaside. Antique brass candlesticks, white florals, olive sprigs and jars of olive oil as thank-you favors adorned the tables, enhancing the Romeo and Juliet ambiance Michelle and Austin were going for.

Michelle wore a stunning Eve of Milady dress with draped sleeves, vintage shoes (from her mother’s closet!), a golden head crown, and a mid-length veil. Austin wore a khaki colored vintage inspired suit from Express that perfectly complemented his bride.
They held an intimate ceremony and spoke handwritten vows in front of a beautiful floral circle arch. The ancient Celtic tradition of handfasting was included in the ceremony, wherein the couple’s hands are bound together, symbolizing the new union of the couple. They also sipped from the same glass of wine in the wine blessing, agreeing to share all that life has to offer!
Guests were treated to a candlelit dinner that was set up around the perimeter of the garden. The tablescape featured personalized napkins, torn papered seating tags, brass utensils, golden pears, and jars of olive oil (as favors!). After dinner, the guests mingled on the terrace drinking a “his” or “her” signature drink of either Pear Mimosa or a Fig Dark & Stormy.
To go along with the vintage theme, only music from the 40’s and 50’s played throughout the evening. The couple stunned their guests with a choreographed first dance to the Sleeping Beauty Waltz. At the end of the evening, they ran through a sea of sparklers and left for their honeymoon!
Their wedding day was truly magical and encompassed everything that they loved! Italy and 1800 France, vintage pieces, a neutral palette, white florals, and hints of Disney through the music that was played throughout the evening!
Thank you, Michelle + Austin for including me in your wedding day! It was a dream to work with you both at such a beautiful venue! Wishing you all the best!!
