It’s a perfect day to share Ashley + Tom’s Eagle River engagement session (featuring their sweet pup, Maya!)
Native Chicagoans, these two love to venture up to Eagle River to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Life in Eagle River is much slower paced, has the kindest of people, amazing lake views, and the best ice cream around. It’s also the location Ashley grew up visiting summer after summer and is a special place to Ashley + her family!
When she reached out about the engagement session, Ashley knew this was where she wanted to have their portraits done! We first met at the adorable Country Shop where they each enjoyed an ice cream cone; we then made our way to a local bar down the road (where they love to hang out!) and drank some delicious beer; and ended by heading to her family’s cabin to grab some portraits near the lake. We also grabbed some portraits with their adorable puppy, Maya!
These two made the session so much fun! They way Tom was able to constantly make Ashley laugh and the way Ashley would look at Tom.. I just know these two are in it for the long haul! Ashley bought these confetti poppers for a few of their pictures and most of them were complete duds! They would pop them and hardly any confetti popped out. It was the most hilarious moment and I got the best reactions!
My favorite set of images are at the very end of the session. Ashley + Tom were sitting on the dock, wrapped up in a cozy blanket, drinking a beer and watching the sunset. It was a beautiful, calm view –– and one of the many reasons why they love coming back to this home time and time again.
Thank you both so much for choosing me to document your engagement! I had an absolute blast getting to know you and hanging out in one of your most treasured locations! Let’s make some magic again soon! 🙂
