Kelly and Ben engagement 008

It’s almost here.. our first family trip to Orlando and Disney World! I cannot tell you how excited I am for this trip (I may be even more excited than my two little boys.. eek!). This is the first vacation that we will be taking as a family of four, and lucky for us, my parents, brothers, sister-in-law and niece will also be joining in on the fun! My amazing parents gifted all of us with this trip to Florida for Christmas so we could have a much needed getaway together.

My brothers and I grew up taking family trips to Florida every other year starting from the time when I was only a year old! It was so fun going to the different them parks, swimming in the ocean, taking in the sites and just having some quality time together. It was some of the best times that we’ve ever had, and I know there will be a lot of reminiscing (maybe some home video watching) about our past vacations. I’m looking forward to starting this travel tradition with our own kids!

This will be the first time our little two year old, Benjamin, will be flying in an airplane. I’m a bit nervous to see how it’s going to go because if you know a two year old.. they can’t seem to sit still! If you have any advice on how best to handle a toddler on an airplane, I’m all ears! When we land, we’ll be heading to the home we rented and make a game plan for the week. We haven’t made any solid plans while we are down there, but this is what we have planned so far: Twins spring training, Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Harry Potter World (the little kid in me is squealing!), Titanic Museum (Owen is OBSESSED with everything Titanic at the moment, so we surprised him at Christmas with tickets to go see this museum.. I think he’s more excited for that then seeing Mickey Mouse!), laying at the beach, reading books, swimming in our pool and just relaxing! I absolutely cannot wait to see Owen and Benjamin’s reactions when we finally arrive at the gates of Magic Kingdom.. they are so looking forward to meeting Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald, the Toy Story Characters and the Transformers! This will be a trip to remember!

We are all so excited to get out of Wisconsin for a while and spend some much needed quality time together! If you have any tips or recommendations on what to do, where to eat, what to see, comment below!
